Apple has announced the release of its much anticipated iPhone 5s as well as its budget-friendly iPhone 5c. The low cost iPhone 5c is part of Apple's bid to counter the flood of low-cost smartphones from rivals, most of which use the Google Android operating system.
The 5c is being marketed as the most colourful iPhone yet. Featuring an all new design, it still comes with all of the iPhone bells and whistles. The 5c includes an 8 megapixel iSight camera, a new FaceTime HD camera for FaceTime calls and self-portraits, and the option to make audio-only FaceTime calls for the first time.
Alternatively, the brand new 5s, also launched on Tuesday, 10 September, is the world’s first smartphone with 64-bit desktop-class architecture.
It uses new Touch ID fingerprint recognition technology, built into the home button, to unlock your phone. Touch ID can also be used as a secure way to approve purchases from the iTunes Store®, App Store or iBooks Store℠.

Both the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will be available to customers to pre-order on Friday, September 13. Apple believes that the lower priced 5c will open up greater markets in China, Indonesia, Turkey and South Africa.
